New interviewers are often trained by completing a series of interviews as a shadow or a lead (reverse shadow). In Gem Scheduling, you can create a training program, define the phases of the program (e.g. Shadow, Reverse Shadow) and how many interviews it takes to complete each phase, and pick an interview eligibility that the interviewer should receive after completing the program.
Creating a training program
You can create a training program from the Training Programs page.
First, pick an interview eligibility that you would like interviewers to receive when they graduate. You can select an interview eligibility that's already in use or create a brand new one.
Then, define the phases of your training program and how many interviews it takes to complete each phase.
Finally, click on the Create Training Program button at the bottom right.
That's it! You can now see the training program, and any interviewers who had that interview eligibility will show up as graduates.
Adding trainees to a training program
Now that you've created a training program, you probably want to start getting some interviewers trained.
From the training program page
On the Interviewers tab of the training program page, click the Edit button, and then click Add Interviewer.
A row for a new interviewer will appear at the top of the list. Select an interviewer from the dropdown. You'll notice that you cannot select an interviewer who is already a trainee or graduate of this program.
If the interviewer already has some training progress that has been completed outside of Gem Scheduling, you can check the boxes in the Training Program column accordingly.
You can add as many interviewers as you want here. Don't forget to click Save in the top right when you're done! You can now see the training paths of all interviewers in this program on this page.
From the Interviewers page
When an interviewer is a trainee for a training program, we automatically add a Trainee interview eligibility to them.
Therefore, you can also add trainees to training programs in bulk on the Interviewers page, by picking the Trainee tag for the program's associated interview eligibility.
