This guide walks you through setting up your full Greenhouse-Gem integration. After this is set up, your team members can use this guide for instructions on how to connect their Greenhouse accounts via the Gem extension (permitting dedupe and upload).
Total time required: 10 minutes
What You Need
Harvest API Key Setup
Step 1: Go to the Greenhouse API Credentials page
Visit the Greenhouse API Credentials page. https://app.greenhouse.io/configure/dev_center/credentials
Step 2: Create the API Key
Press Create New API Key at the top of the page.
- Description: Gem
- Partner: N/A or "Unlisted Vendor"
- Type: Harvest
When finished, click Manage Permissions to generate the Harvest API key. This will then show you the API key. This will be the only time this API key is shown to you, so make sure you copy and store it in a safe place.
Once you've copied and stored it, click the "I have stored the API Key" button to configure the permissions for this new key. Set it's permissions based on the following article to ensure it will be compatible with Gem: Harvest API Key Required Permissions
Step 3: Add the API Key to the Gem Admin panel.
Copy the “Gem” Harvest API Key in the API Credentials Management page (https://app.greenhouse.io/configure/dev_center/credentials) and input it into the Admin Section in Gem (http://www.gem.com/admin) under the Greenhouse Harvest API Key Section.

Greenhouse Webhooks Setup
Set up Greenhouse Webhooks by traveling to the Webhooks Configuration page (https://app.greenhouse.io/configure/dev_center/web_hooks) in Greenhouse, which is found under Configure > Dev Center > Webhooks > Webhooks.
You should now be on a page that looks like this:
If you see the blue Gem button, simply click the button and follow the instructions.
Tip: If you don't see this button, make sure you have the Gem extension installed!
