Prospect Search makes it easy for recruiters and hiring teams to find candidates in their Gem database. With customizable filters and keywords, you can quickly narrow down your search, build curated lists of prospects, and engage with exactly the right candidates by adding them to Projects or kicking off Sequences—all from one page. The more candidates you add to Gem, the more valuable Prospect Search becomes.
Key capabilities of Prospect Search include:
- Advanced filtering: Apply a range of search filters to narrow down prospects based on Gem attributes
- Keyword search: Refine searches using specific terms (e.g., “Python”), or apply Boolean search operators (e.g., AND, OR, NOT) for more precise results
- Save and share searches: Build a library of saved searches to visit later and easily share them with your team
- Saved Searches: Leverage pre-built search templates for common recruiting workflows, or quickly access your own Saved Searches and those shared by your team
What’s on your Prospect Search dashboard
You can access Prospect Search from the left-hand menu of your Gem page—it’s located under the “People” header.
Here’s what you’ll find on your Prospect Search dashboard:
-
Filters: Here’s where the magic begins. Drill down into your talent pool by filtering candidates based on:
- Work
- Education
- Location
- Contact history
- Gem ATS applications
- Projects
- Contact information
- Profile
- Prospect scorecards
- Search bar: Hone in further on the right prospective candidates with targeted keywords
-
Saved Searches: This is where you’ll find your personal Saved Searches, along with a set of pre-configured “quick searches” from Gem to help you hit the ground running. They include:
- Prospects likely to move: Candidates who are likely to be open to new opportunities (Gem looks at signals on candidate profiles to identify this. It’s an evolving algorithm.)
- Prospects to follow up with: Individuals who responded to previous outreach with “not now, but maybe later,” and may now be ready for further engagement
- Engaged prospects to nurture: Prospects who recently interacted with your email (clicked a link) but didn’t respond—ideal for continued nurturing
- Cold prospects: Candidates who haven’t yet responded to your outreach and may require a fresh approach
- New prospects for outreach: A list of fresh talent whom you haven’t contacted yet (these folks don’t know it, but they might be waiting for your first engagement)
- Silver Medalists: Past candidates who came close to being hired in previous rounds and could be strong fits for future opportunities
- Share: Click this button to share a link to your current Prospect Search with teammates, copy the URL to send, or download a CSV file with the candidates from that particular search to share
With Prospect Search, finding and engaging with the right candidates in your Gem database has never been easier.
