Gem provides two views for your data currently; an Activity View and a Funnel View. Both views answer different types of questions.
Funnel View
Funnel View helps you see the full-funnel pass-through rates on your sourcing and recruiting work. Filter down by Recruiter, Project, Department, etc., to see what is going well and where you need to troubleshoot.
In this view, Gem groups candidates together based on whatever the left-most stage in the Funnel View is and shows you the pass-through rates for candidates who entered that stage during the time period you are filtering on. In the screenshot above, we are looking at only candidates that have been sent an outreach in 2019; this means that candidates that were sent outreach in Dec. 2018 won’t show up in any of these stages even if they received an offer in 2019.
This type of view allows you to answer questions like:
-
How do my conversion rates for my Software Engineer requisition vary by gender?
-
Which candidates’ sources are providing the highest ROI for me and my team?
-
Based on the candidates currently in my pipeline for this Account Executive role, how many hires can I expect to make?
Activity View
Activity View shows how many candidates have passed through a specific stage during that time period independent of previous stages. This differs from the Funnel View in that candidates won’t show up in a stage unless they moved to that stage for the time period that you’ve set.
Using the same example above, this screenshot shows all activity for the 2019 calendar year, meaning that if a candidate is sent a Sequence in Dec. 2019 and replies in Jan. 2020, they will show up in the Send column in this view, but not in any of the other columns. This means you won’t be able to see any percentages in this view.
This type of view allows you to answer questions like:
-
How many Recruiter Phone Screens have I done this quarter?
-
How many offers were extended by my team last year?
-
How many candidates with Source “Prospecting” had an Onsite in Q1?
