“Do Not Contact” Company List

Overview

This feature allows Gem Admins to create a “Do Not Contact” list of company names for their team. If a team member attempts to contact a candidate that has previously and/or currently works for a company on the list, a soft warning will appear. This feature does not stop you from contacting candidates on the list, but notifies you when their company is on it.

 

 

Requirements

To gain access to this feature, contact our Sales team (sales@gem.com) or your Gem Customer Success Manager.

 

Using this feature

Gem Admins:

Start by creating the “Do Not Contact” company list for your team.

  1. Go to the Additional settings tab of the Team Settings dashboard: Click Here

  2. Under the Do Not Contact list section, click Create do not contact entry.

  3. Input the name of the company you’d like to add. Gem will list all relevant company names from the Gem database as suggestions once you begin typing, but you can also manually add a custom name if it is not listed.

  4. Choose who to apply warnings to:

    1. Both past and present employees of this company.

    2. Only current employees of this company.

  5. Content that you enter into the Note section will not be visible to team members.

All team members:

If a candidate's company is on your team's Do Not Contact list, yellow warning banners will be surfaced at multiple points:

  • A - When viewing the candidate’s profile in the Gem sidebar or extension

  • B - When creating a draft of a sequence that contains the candidate as a recipient, including when sending a sequence directly from the Gem extension

  • C - When reviewing the recipients list, prior to sending out a sequence

  • D - When sending the candidate a one-off message
